It's been a while. I've been sailing the high seas, searching for adventure. But now that I'm back it's time for some updatin' to do! I'm going to talk about the show I started and what the hell I've been doing these past months.
So I guess the last time I posted was in January, right before Spring semester started at Cal State Fullerton. And then... I disappeared once more into the darkness of college life. Just kidding, I've been having wayyy too much of a good time to update you peasants about it.
No, I've just been focusing on school mostly. It's like Level 2, where Level 1 was easy and Level 2 is a bit easier but it's showing you how challenging things are about to get. My public transportation commute has increased in complexity, to the point where I accidentally missed a class early in the semester because I forgot what day it was
and left the school early.I also started my first major-related production class, TV Production! It's awesome; tons of fun. Each student gets a chance to direct, and we rotate all of the positions on the crew. I did a PSA about the ever-wonderful Creative Commons license for my first project, and I have to say it took me by surprise. For once in my life, I feel like a project has matched my skill level and challenged me both creatively and technically.
The pressure to find a job is increasing steadily. I mainly want an internship. I care more about experience doing what I love than money, so that's the goal. Money would be nice, though. I've done some freelance work and it's been a bit of struggle having to work for clients now. It's different from doing what you want.
At the beginning of March, I started something big for my YouTube channel. It's a talk show called Tea Chats, and it focuses on nurturing a conversation with my viewers. Instead of pointless time-wasting vlogs, I focus on discussing problems in society and talking about what interests the viewers. Although vlogs were some of the most popular content on my channel, I felt that needed to change. So I replaced them with Tea Chats. Don't worry, there's still a lot of fun and silliness going on. Things are kept light while also talking about serious things. It's a cool concept, and I'm excited to see where it goes. These are all of the episodes so far. Here's a video explaining what it's about:
If you like the sound of it, then please, find the most recent video and add to the discussion, or start a new one. I'd love to hear what you have to say, and talk with you.
I'm disappointed with my timing, however. The show started right before the Baha'i fast, which meant that I couldn't drink tea during the time I film the show while the fast was going (drinking tea is a big part of the show; it's a tradition I want to start). I had to hold off on filming because I couldn't find any time to do it. Then, when the fast ended, the project file for the next episode became corrupted and I had to start over in the midst of tests before spring break. There was no time, and episode two ended up being four weeks late. Oh well, it happened. I can only put my best effort into the upcoming episodes to make up for lost time.
